Avi Schnurr is President of the Electric Infrastructure Security (EIS) Council . Mr. Schnurr has reviewed EMP and severe solar flare infrastructure risks and protection options in the United States for the White House Executive Office staff, Congress, the Department of Energy, the United States Strategic Command, National Security Council staff and other government agencies. He has also provided cabinet-level briefings on these subjects in the governments of the United Kingdom and other U.S. allies, as well as briefings to Parliamentary Committees, government science advisors and energy ministries. Avi Schnurr has also been a regular speaker at defense policy institutes, and has reviewed U.S. defense policy for the Department of Defense, the White House Homeland Security Council, Congress, the National Academy of Sciences, NATO working groups and elsewhere. Mr. Schnurr worked until the end of 2004 in the U.S. for Northrop Grumman’s Space Technology Sector, where he managed U.S. and international defense programs, and also had responsibilities for a variety of space payloads and instruments. Avi Schnurr also founded and managed the THEL Laser program. He has received numerous awards for his defense work, and holds patents for his work in laser and optical systems.
